We amplify Women\u2019s leadership, strengthen academic research, and influence polices for a more inclusive society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Quick Highlights<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Academic Journals promoting gender research in health, education, politics, culture and agriculture.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>5 Regional Chapters and Head Office working to mainstream gender equality national wide.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Capacity building and mentorship programs empowering the next generation of women leaders.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>History<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Ethiopian Gender Professional Association (EGPA) is a non- profit professional association founded by 2016 Master class students and teachers, with the aim of transforming gender discourse in Ethiopia through research, policy, and advocacy. Our journey began with a vision to connect professionals working on gender equality and has since expanded into five regions, supported by diverse members and partners. After two years of legal process has been registered at national level by EFDR Authority for civil society organizations on November 08\/2018 as local organization, as per the Civil Society Organization Proclamation no-1113\/2019 EGPA was re-registered March 08\/ 2020. Since its establishment, it has been working on strengthen the role of gender experts, academic\u2019s, and practitioners in in shaping Ethiopia\u2019s development. Emerging from the growing recognition of gender as a cross-cutting issue, EGPA has become a national hub for research, dialogue, and professional collaboration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;EGPA Structure<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">EGPA is head quartered in Addis Ababa and has opened its six regional charters namely Addis Ababa, Gambella, Adama, Mekele, Bahirdar and Hawassa to reach all over Ethiopia.&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>EGPA Organizational Stricture<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">EGPA is led by the General assembly which is the highest authority; approves strategy, bylaws, budgets and appointments, and operates through an executive committee. With An independent Auditor oversight. The Executive Committee is elected by General Assembly; provides strategic direction, governance, sets annual priorities, and monitors performance. The President leads the organization day-to-day in line with Executive Committee guidance: represents EGPA externally.
