History of EGPA
The Ethiopian Gender Professional Association (EGPA) is a non- profit professional association founded by 2016 Master class students and teachers, with the aim of transforming gender discourse in Ethiopia through research, policy, and advocacy. Our journey began with a vision to connect professionals working on gender equality and has since expanded into five regions, supported by diverse members and partners. After two years of legal process has been registered at national level by EFDR Authority for civil society organizations on November 08/2018 as local organization, as per the Civil Society Organization Proclamation no-1113/2019 EGPA was re-registered March 08/ 2020. Since its establishment, it has been working on strengthen the role of gender experts, academic’s, and practitioners in in shaping Ethiopia’s development. Emerging from the growing recognition of gender as a cross-cutting issue, EGPA has become a national hub for research, dialogue, and professional collaboration.
